One of my favorite quotes is by C.S. Lewis: "These things - the beauty, the memory of our own past - are good images of what we really desire." That's why I love photography, and more than just photography, photos. Photos take us back to "the beauty, the memory of our own past" and show us what we truly long for - happiness, peace, love, or whatever it is that is held by the image.
That's also why I believe that more important than a beautiful wedding is a beautiful and strong marriage. A gorgeous wedding is something we all work for, and that should be a reflection of how hard we all work for a truly holy marriage.
I hope these resources help you and your boo prepare not only for your wedding, but also for your marriage!
This book, by Fulton Sheen, was one of our absolute favorite books that helped us prepare for marriage. But be sure to get cozy and be prepared to spend time reading this. It is packed with so much wisdom and showed us what an extraordinary and beautiful gift the calling of marriage is.
Do you want to learn how to better love your boo? This book will teach you their (and your!) love language. This was great in helping me and my husband learn about each other on a deeper level and really encouraged us to put each other first.
"The Temperament God Gave You" goes hand in hand with "The 5 Love Languages." It teaches you so much about yourself, your personality, and the "why" behind your characteristics and quirks. It helped me and my husband learn our strengths and weaknesses and how to build our character.
Ryan and Selena Frederick keep this podcast fun, lighthearted, and filled with laughter. Listening to this podcast has given us amazing conversation starters, and it really encourages the listener to talk openly with their SO.
